Follower-Leader Dynamics (ML123)

This two-unit course examines the relationship between leaders and followers. It covers leadership and followership theories and practical applications for effective leadership and organizational success. Cadets will gain a deep understanding of these dynamics through the analysis of traditional leadership theories and recent concepts on followership.

SECOND TERM, THIRDCLASS

Leading with Self-Mastery (ML222)

This two (2) unit course is designed to enhance Third class cadets' self-awareness, emotional regulation, and other aspects of self-mastery in developing effective leadership. Also, it improves cadets' understanding of leader behavior and the dynamics of small group and team interactions. This will equip them with the essential knowledge of their role as buddies, team leaders, and soon-to-be squad leaders of the cadet corps. The course covers topics on self-mastery and introduces topics on small-unit leadership.

FIRST TERM, SECONDCLASS

Leading Teams (ML321)

The course is designed to enhance cadets' knowledge on theories and concepts of small-unit leadership. Moreover, the course develops essential skills of Second class cadets in leading a squad and the application of leadership principles within an organizational context. The course covers mentoring, coaching, counseling skills, and organizational leadership.

FIRST TERM, FIRSTCLASS

Leaders in Action (ML421)

This course enhances cadets' leadership skills through hands-on experience with real-world projects and scenario-driven exercises. Using a theory application, practical application, and reflection approach, cadets revisit leadership theories and apply them to practical challenges, such as leading units through unexpected changes. Cadets engage in self-reflection and receive mentorship to help process and make sense of their leadership experience on both a personal and conceptual level.
