The 84th PMA Superintendent

FORT GENERAL GREGORIO H DEL PILAR, Baguio City – President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr, has appointed MAJOR GENERAL ROWEN S TOLENTINO PA as the 84th Superintendent of the Philippine Military Academy who is set to assume this day, 12 August 2022, Friday.

In accordance with the Republic Act 11709, Title II, Section 3, MGEN TOLENTINO PA will be the first Superintendent who will render a four-year fixed term in the academy.

Before he took the helm of the academy, he was the 42nd Commander of the 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division of the Philippine Army. His first assignment was in Negros Occidental, where he practiced his leadership skills with the 3rd Infantry Division.

Throughout his military career, he held various positions including the Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer of the 61st Infantry Battalion; Chief of Management Branch, Management and Fiscal Office, and Fiscal Operations Branch at Headquarters Philippine Army; Battalion Commander of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion in Mindanao and 3rd Mechanized Battalion in Luzon; Assistant Chief of Staff for CMO G7 and Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations G3 of the Light Armor Division.

Furthermore, he became the 18th Commander of 703rd Infantry (AGILA) Brigade; Deputy Commander, Training and Doctrine Command, PA; and Chief of Staff, Philippine Army. Along with his assignments were the numerous recognitions which include: Distinguished Service Stars, Gold Cross Medal, Bronze Cross Medals, Military Merit Medals, Military Civic Action Medals, Commendation Medals, Ribbons, Badges, Distinguished Service Award, Plaques and Letter of Commendations.

His laudable achievements, various military and civilian schoolings, and his exemplary commitment in military service had brought him to the highest position in the Academy.
